И в ситуациях, когда с кем-то обошлись несправедливо, скажут, что этот человек получил именно эту часть фрукта.

Впервые идиома get the rough end of the pineapple была использована в 1959 году в пьесе The Piccadilly Bushman австралийского драматурга, актера и продюсера Рея Лоулера.
